New Hall

Madderty Community Association is at an exciting time.  The present hall, built in the early 1920's had served the community well but it is now at the end of its life.

In November 2007 we received fantastic news that the local Hay MacLagan Trust had agreed to provide funds for the new hall of £ 210,000 subject to the remainder of the funding being in place.  In December 2008 we received more magnificent news that the Rural Development Fund will be funding £ 450,000 of the costs of the project.  Along with the sale of the existing site as two housing plots the funding for the new hall is substantially in place.  Many thanks for everyone who has helped get us to this stage.

The project received detailed planning permission from Perth and Kinross Council on 30 April 2009, for details see link and is currently at the tender stage, with site works expected to start on 1 March 2010.  The existing hall site has now been put up for sale - follow this link for details - house plots.  After a period of 89 years of use as the village hall the existing hall finally closed its doors after the Hogmanay party in the early hours of 1 January 2010.  It is hoped that the new hall will be opened in late Autumn of 2010.
